We took Leroy and Eunace with us on a Ndumo trip early in December. Leroy is the son of one of the doctors. He was brought up in Zim and is a very well spoken young chap with a naughty streak. He plays LEGO with Louis and looks after Ralph like an older brother.
We camped at Ndumo for 2 nights and spent most of the time in the campsite swimming pool which is large and very blue. Leroy and Louis were teaching Eunace how to swim and Eunace probably still cant work out why we would pay to sleep in a tent and also hope to hear rhino/ hippo grazing outside at night.
We went on a game drive around the pan and saw giraffes drinking, plenty of crocs and hippos. And also my favourite- the fever tree(pictured) . They shine yellow in the light and they are quite specific to the area- I may have mentioned this before.
Ceri and I went on a bird walk with a game ranger with a very large african bottom(also pictured). She carried a rifle just in case but she was so laid back that I am not too sure what she would have done with it in a emergency situation.

We were literally eaten through our clothes by mosquitos (malaria very common in this area). There were several hippo trails(pictured) on the path.
We saw a very large stick insect(pictured) and Ralph told us that there was a BIG giraffe near the tent(pictured). He was right!
